There are several carbon monoxide sensors located throughout the parking garage. Their purpose is to detect carbon monoxide emissions when one or more cars are operating in the parking garage.
If the CO detector determines there is too much carbon monoxide in the parking garage, fans should come on automatically to blow the emissions outside. This is a very common practice throughout enclosed parking garages and is part of the Ontario Building Code.
In the case of Somerset Gardens, one particular carbon monoxide monitor is located too close to a parking spot and is setting off the detector on a regular basis. This coupled with the fact that your CO detectors are hard wired to a monitoring company is causing too many service calls to reset the detector.
The Board of Directors is actively looking for a solution to prevent these alarms from going off repeatedly and we believe we have sourced a safe and practical solution which should come into affect this Friday, October 21st.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
