Short Term Rentals Rule #34 – The notice issued to all owners April 7th concerning passing a rule with respect to short term rentals has taken effect on May 7th 2016. A confirmation notice of this new rule will be mailed to all owners shortly.
Ground Floor Library - Some of you may have noticed how tidy and organized the ground floor library is now. The Board of Directors would like to thank our two volunteers, Susan Ward & Suzanne Bisson for their hard work!
Smoke-Free Reminder – A reminder to residents that the exterior areas such as the rooftop patio, balconies and grounds of the building are smoke-free like the interior of the building.
Pets & Rooftop Patio BBQ - Please note that residents should not allow pets to relieve themselves on the rooftop patio or common areas; please walk your pets off of the property. The rooftop patio BBQ will soon have a new wire cleaning brush; please use this brush to clean the grill after each use. Thank you for your cooperation.
Filters – Have you checked your heat pump filter lately? If not please do so and contact the property manager to request a replacement filter. Keeping the filter clean helps ensure proper functioning of your heat pump, and avoids costly service calls.
Water conservation - We are always looking for ways to conserve water as well as to keep condo fees down. One source of water loss are toilets that run constantly because the flapper in the toilet tank is worn down, resulting in a continuous water loss. If that occurs, you should replace the flapper as soon as possible. A running toilet or leaking taps can cause significant water damage if left in a state of disrepair! Garbage/Recycling - To dispose of large items, contact the city by phoning 311. Explain that you want the item removed at the next special item pick-up date. You can then place the item at the curb the day before pick-up. The city has a useful website for info on garbage and recycling issues at http://ottawa.ca/en/residents/garbage-and-recycling
